Roasting & Pasteurization
For customers requiring further preparation, Willamette Hazelnut offers custom roasting and pasteurization services. Roasting can be specified to level, typically to prepare product for grinding into paste or hazelnut butter. Pasteurization is performed to a 5-log kill standard, achieving a 100,000-fold reduction in pathogens and rendering the product ready to eat. These services are held to the same standards of precision and care that govern everything else we do. Both are designed to reduce the time between processing and delivery, moving product back faster and with fewer steps in between.
